Whilst I have yet to master the art of actual daily self-discipline, I am doing better at painting and writing than I am about updating this blog… honest.  So I, the prodigal blogger, am back here with quite a slew of things to show at show ‘n’ tell this week.

The first of which is not pretty… it is a testament to why Alwyn Crawshaw said you really ‘mustn’t fiddle’… or you end up with a muddy, busy, odd-looking thingamajig like this:

Love Garden (but really just a mess of doodles...)

Once I decided I’d had enough doodling and adding weird spikey things, I started over on a new watercolor.  I’m realy digging the watercoloring lately (did another one – a desertscape – at art therapy volunteering on Friday, too, but don’t have a picture of that one), even if I am pretty pants at it.  Oh well, I figure practice makes perfect, so I’ll just have fun practicing.  I ended up with this picture of some columbines today.  I’m not too pleased with the background, but I’m pretty happy with the shadows on the petals.

I have also done some writing on my “novel” today.  Sadly, the only thing ‘novel’ about it so far is just how incredibly uniquely atrocious it is.  BUT, everything is better after some baking, I find, so I made these for a double birthday party at work tomorrow:

Perdy.  It’s been a good, productive day.  Aside from the fiddling.  Really mustn’t fiddle.  Bad Genevieve.
